<image:title>Home - Hi, I’m Dr. Jessye Talley, and I teach new early career faculty how to prepare a successful dossier to go up for tenure review.</image:title>
<image:caption>In my first semester as new TT faculty, I was assigned to teach three different courses. I was overwhelmed because I did not have everything organized before the semester began. I worked long hours and was overprepared for my classes, but I was not gaining the momentum in my research as I wanted. Soon, I figured out that I needed to go back and reevaluate my values. I didn’t want to be overworked without any fulfillment. Instead, I created a strategy and plan that helped me get through the first three years as new TT faculty, so I could have a successful third-year review at my university, while still living the life that I wanted to live.</image:caption>

<image:title>About - Associate Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Morgan State University</image:title>
<image:caption>Dr. Jessye Talley is a three-time graduate of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in the area of Industrial and Systems Engineering. She is currently an Associate Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering in the School of Engineering at Morgan State University where she leads the Risk, Optimization, Management, Evaluation (R.O.M.E) Lab. Her research focuses on applying operations research methods to address supply chain management as well as utilizing qualitative methods for engineering education. Her current work has been funded by the National Science Foundation. Upon completion of her doctoral degree she co-founded Sisters Scholars with Dr. Orissa Massey to promote health and wellness during the doctorate and in academia. It is her desire to see more students complete the doctoral process and make it to the finish line. Her experiences in academia prompted her to begin coaching new faculty during the first three years on tenure track. These years are crucial to the success of obtaining tenure. Dr. Talley loves to share with the next generation of engineers and STEM professionals. She also has a strong interest in encouraging other girls and women to obtain degrees in STEM fields. Dr. Talley has also spoken at various national and international conferences, seminars, and serves on boards to positively impact her community. She believes that giving back helps to create a better world and opens up new opportunities to be the change we want to see. Additionally, Dr. Talley is a member of Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE), and INFORMS.</image:caption>
